Big fair, big opportunity for local entertainers

The Tulare County Fair is seeking local entertainers to perform during the fair, Sept. 16-20, and has extended the deadline.

The application form, and details about available sound equipment, is available online on the entertainment page of the fair’s web site, Applications are due by Sept. 4.

“The Tulare County Fair draws a huge crowd from throughout the South Valley, so it offers entertainers an invaluable venue to perform and make their name known,” noted Pamela Fyock, CEO of the Tulare County Fair.

Acts must be appropriate for fair-goers of all ages, and can include instrumentalists, dancers, magicians and more. In addition to submitting the form, prospective entertainers are encouraged to provide samples of performances, letters of recommendation and web site information.

Local entertainers already confirmed for the community stages include Island Style Productions, a group that keeps the Polynesian culture alive through music, dance and costumes; Tulare resident Bill Murch, a solo classic rock singer and guitarist; and PSYCHE 5 Band,a Paramore tribute band from Pixley. Other ensembles include Midnight Wine, country/southern rock, Westhoward, a Visalia rock band, and vocalists Miss Lee and Little Ava, and Craig Isaac.

The Tulare County Fair will run Sept. 16-20, offering a week of entertainment for the family, educational activities for children, the annual Junior Livestock Auction, Fair food, fun rides and more. Visit for ongoing updates to the schedule of events or call the fairgrounds office at 686-4707.
