Con Funk Shun headlines 2018 Tulare County Fair

Plans for the September 2018 Tulare County Fair are getting a little funky, in a good way.

Today the fair announced the second band for its 2018 concert series, Con Funk Shun. The band is slated to perform on Friday, Sept. 14 at 8:00 p.m. on the Budweiser Stage. All concerts are included with the price of fair admission. Tickets and discount promotions for the Tulare County Fair will launch Tuesday, July 10 at tcfair.org.

“Con Funk Shun is said to be among the heroes of funk with romantic ballads plus dance party hits galore,” said Pamela Fyock, chief executive officer of the Tulare County Fair. “We are excited that we have added this great funk band to our impressive concert lineup.”

Con Funk Shun delivers a high-energy show with electrifying choreography, glistening six-part vocal harmonies, and a dash of humor. Memorable melodies, inventive horn arrangements and clav-guitar woven grooves, make the group essential to the evolution of funk. Their impressive music career includes four consecutive Golds and one Platinum album. Their 20 hit singles included eight Top Ten R&B hits and one #1 R&B hit.

Funk Shun is the second band announced for the Tulare County Fair’s 2018 concert series. Queen Nation, a tribute to the music of Queen, will perform on Sept.15. Additional artists will be announced soon.

The Tulare County Fair’s mission is to showcase agriculture and create family fun. The five-day fair opens on Sept. 12 and runs through Sept. 16, 2018. The annual celebration includes scrumptious food, celebrity entertainment, interactive children’s activities, hundreds of animals, a wildlife adventure, a thrilling carnival, exciting motorsports, a rodeo, an impressive Junior Livestock Auction, and more. The Tulare County Fair has been a community tradition for more than a century. For more information visit tcfair.org. #TulareFair2018
