Community, kids pitch in at Tulare County Fairgrounds
TULARE – Adults and students from throughout Tulare County will gather at the Tulare County Fairgrounds to prepare the grounds for the fair, Sept. 13-17.
The community clean-up day will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 19, and all are welcome to help, noted Pamela Fyock, CEO of the fair.
Volunteers of all ages will help plant flowers, trim bushes and paint, Fyock noted. Tools will be available, but volunteers are encouraged to bring their own gardening tools.
Students from FFA and 4H programs throughout the county are expected to participate including more than 200 students from St. Aloysius school in Tulare. These volunteers will help prepare the animal pens for the students showing livestock, and students from Redwood High School in Visalia will build new temporary handwashing stations.
